This is where it all started for me—just a freshman in high school, stealing my mom’s camera from the hall closet to take photos of my friends at their lacrosse games. Those early pictures, silly as they seemed at the time, changed everything.
Over my four years at Bayport-Blue Point, I photographed every sport I could, but lacrosse quickly became my favorite. The pace, the finesse, the grit—it was a game that was so easy to capture for me.
Now, whenever I’m home, I find myself back on that same turf, sometimes by choice, sometimes because my younger brother and his friends were the ones suiting up for the Phantoms. (ending their senior year in the programs first ever state championship- talk about picture perfect)
The photos have improved over time, but their purpose remains the same—to freeze the moments we’d otherwise forget. The post-goal hugs, the cold, rainy nights in the bleachers, the comeback wins, and the state championship thrillers. It all started here, and in many ways, it still feels like home.
